Presented For Spring/Summer 2019, The Comme Des Garçons x Nike Shox TL Reinterprets A Performance Runner Through Kawakubo’s Lens Of Disruption And Material Deconstruction. The Classic Shox TL Silhouette, Originally Engineered For Maximum Cushioning With Its Full-Length Column Sole System, Is Stripped Of Conventional Athletic Polish And Reworked With Exposed Textures And Altered Surface Treatments. The Off-White Upper, Combined With The Sculptural Shox Platform, Creates A Tension Between Futuristic Sports Technology And Raw, Almost Unfinished Aesthetics. Rather Than Adding Excess Branding, The Collaboration Relies On Structural Intervention, Turning A Late-2000s Running Model Into A Conceptual Fashion Statement That Reflects Comme Des Garçons’ Ongoing Dialogue Between Function And Subversion.
